Description

Bertolt Brecht's classic, The Good Person of Setzuan, takes the stage on October 14 for a specialy showcase at the University of Hawaii at Manoa. Set in Sichuan, China, the German theater practitioner's play follows three gods who are visiting the earth to find just one mensch; one good person who will justify the world’s continuation. After only finding greed, evil, dishonesty and selfishness, their search finally comes to an end when the gods meet the poor young prostitute Shen Teh. But can anyone be pure and good in a society, that at its roots, not good?
