The June 2019 Pupus With A Purpose event will focus on sustainably caught seafood. International fisheries expert and marine science educator, Kara Miller, will be our special guest for the evening. You will learn what the term “sustainably caught” means, which sources to trust and what to consider when you are selecting between farm-raised and wild, or local and non-local.
Chef Sarah Burchard will prepare three seafood-centric courses using local troll-caught fish provided by Local ʻIa and Forage Hawaiʻi. Her intention with the menu is to showcase the bounty that responsible fisherman in Oʻahu have to offer and to inspire you to incorporate more of these types of fish into your diet. With each course we will explore a different topic: invasive fish, local tuna and farm-raised fish.
As always the purpose of this event is to support local, inspire you to think differently about where you source your food and encourage you to make choices from a conscious place in your heart, so that positive change can happen in our food system.
Tickets include a Gazoz cocktail, wine and 3 courses of pupu.
