Artists of all media can spend quality time with internationally renowned scholar-artist Magdalene Odundo. With a maximum of 12 selected participants, each master class is designed to foster creative, intellectual and professional growth. Application deadline on July 31st. 

 

CULTURAL CROSSROADS AND THE URBAN ENVIRONMENT

OCT. 2-6, 2017, UNIVERSITY OF HAWAI‘I-MĀNOA, HONOLULU, HAWAI‘I

Held on the island of Oahu, this master class will focus on the role that cross-cultural influences have played in Hawaii’s artistic heritage and how participants can derive new inspiration from the cultural diversity of Hawaii’s urban setting.

 

NATURE AND GEOGRAPHIES

OCT. 10-14, 2017, VOLCANO ART CENTER, VOLCANO, HAWAI‘I

Held on the island of Hawaii (Big Island), this master class will focus on gleaning ideas and inspiration from the ever-changing natural environment and the geographic features specific to this island’s active volcanic setting.

 

Applications will be accepted online only via the call for entry system, CaFE, at www.callforentry.org. A link will be provided on the Hawaiʻi Craftsmen website during the open application period from Jul. 1- 31, 2017. A prospectus with detailed information about applying for selection, in the master classes is available online at www.hawaiicraftsmen.org.
