What better way to spend Father’s Day and World Sea Turtle Day than being surrounded by sea turtles in their natural habitat in Hawai‘i?
On this World Sea Turtle Day, we are inviting you to join us to help raise awareness for the endangered sea turtle species! We will be heading out by boat to Maunalua Bay to snorkel or observe sea turtles in their natural habitat. While on the boat, our volunteers provide educational talks about sea turtle biology and conservation.
Please meet in the Hawai‘i Kai shopping center in front of the Island Divers Hawai‘i dive shop at 8:30 a.m. Plan on returning to land by 11:30 a.m. after an unique experience on Father’s Day off the coast of O‘ahu! A minimum donation of $50 per person, which includes the adoption of a sea turtle on behalf of a special dad with his name on the official adoption certificate.
Due to limited seating, please make reservations via the link below.
Note: Snorkeling gear rental is included and is optional. There is an option of remaining on the boat to observe turtles without getting in the water. Snorkelers must remain a minimum of 10 feet away from any sea turtle.
About Sea Turtles 911: Did you know that thousands of sea turtles are consumed every year in Asia? Because Hawai‘i is such a wonderful refuge for sea turtles, it’s easy to forget that in other places in the world, sea turtles are still victims of human consumption. The mission of Sea Turtles 911 is to give hope for marine turtle species by raising public awareness and educating people about the cause of turtle population decline in the Asia Pacific region and what they can do to help.
