Cultural Classes, Games and Local Shopping at Paʻakai Marketplace

Description

Cultural art classes will be offered by Paʻi Foundation at Pa‘akai Marketplace, at Salt at Our Kakaʻako. There will be classes in kapa jewelry making,  Niʻihau shell earring making, watercolor painting and more. Also learn to play kōnane (Hawaiian checkers) and Hulo (a Hawaiian word game) at Pa‘akai Marketplace. For class times, more activities, registration information and costs, visit the website.

 

Celebrate Hawaiian culture and shop locally, at Salt at Our Kakaʻako’s monthly Pa‘akai Marketplace. The cultural showcase takes place in The Barn at Salt and brings together local artists, crafters and cultural practitioners. Held in collaboration with Paʻi Foundation, this is a free family and pet-friendly event. Paʻi Foundation’s goal is to preserve and perpetuate Hawaiian cultural traditions for future generations.

 

On Friday, enjoy music from Jason Midro at 5 p.m., followed by Moon Kahele at 7:15 p.m. On Saturday, Jai Rodgers entertains at 5 p.m., followed by Taz Vegas at 7:15 p.m.

 

Parking is available in the Salt at Our Kaka‘ako parking structure, accessible from Keawe Street. Additional parking is also available at The Flats at Puʻunui.
