Community Huki Workday at Maunalua Bay

Date/Time

Aug 12, 2017
09:00 AM until 12:00 PM

Description

Join Mālama Maunalua for a volunteer workday at Maunalua Bay. Participants will restore the marine environment by removing invasive algae from the nearshore waters.

Volunteers should check in with the Community Huki Leaders (CHLs). They will hand out water shoes, gloves, and onion bags to remove the algae. Please ensure that all everyone has water to stay hydrated in the sun and clothing that can get wet. We recommend using the restrooms at Kuliʻouʻou Beach park as there are none at the worksite.

Each volunteer will need to RSVP and fill out a Mālama Maunalua waiver.   Please email volunteer@malamamaunalua.org to reserve spots, especially for large groups. Parking can be found along Summer Street.
