Clean up Mākua Beach with Sustainable Coastlines Hawai‘i and Nā Kama Kai

Sep 21, 2019

Sustainable Coastlines Hawai‘i and Nā Kama Kai are returning to O‘ahu’s westside for the 6th annual Mākua cleanup on September 21 and 22 at 9 a.m. in partnership with Mālama Mākua. On Saturday September 21 beach cleaners will check in at 9 a.m. and we’ll clean from 9:30–11:30 a.m. before coming back to enjoy an afternoon of good vibes, mele, and lunch on a super clean beach. Sunday will be another opportunity to help if you can’t make it on Saturday. Join hundreds of others to give back to Mākua beach and surrounding beaches.

We would love to have as many of our community members with trucks come ready to help haul things from the surrounding area back to the container that we will have at Mākua. Please leave us a message if you can assist in that way.

We are very grateful for our community partners Nā Kama Kai and Mālama Mākua for hosting this cleanup on one of O‘ahu’s most incredible stretches of coastline. And of course to the sponsors of the event that make it possible - Parley for the Oceans, Honolulu Buick GMC Cadillac, Honua Hawaiian Skincare, Impact Painting, LLC, Matador and more to come.

Reach out to rachael@sustainablecoastlineshawaii.org if you are interested in sponsoring the event.

Please be advised as always there will be NO illegal camping allowed.
