Calling all Hawai‘i residents! Blood Bank of Hawai‘i is urging Hawai‘i residents to show they are ‘Tough Enough’ to save lives this summer by donating blood at one of over 70 blood drives on O‘ahu this July.
Anyone who donates blood during the summer will receive a receive a temporary ‘Tough Enough’ tattoo along with complimentary giveaways from Dunkin Donuts, McDonald’s of Hawai‘i, and Dave’s Ice Cream.
Blood donations drop by more than 15 percent every summer when students are out of school and families go on vacation. Blood Bank of Hawai‘i depends on 200 volunteer donors a day to provide lifesaving blood for various purposes such as surgery, trauma victims, delivering mothers, cancer treatments and other life-saving procedures.
Blood Bank of Hawai‘i holds drives every single day across the state, and the Young Street Donor Center (1907 Young St) is also open seven days a week. To find a drive near you, go to bloodbankdonor.org or call (808) 848-4770.
While walk ins are welcome, making an appointment will save you time when you donate. For a list of drives and to sign up, visit bloodbanktough.org
