An Evening to Honor King David Kalākaua

Description

Native Hawaiian culture experts will share stories, song, chants and hula about King David Kalākaua, his world tour and efforts to gain worldwide recognition for Hawaiʻi as a nation.

 

The program will feature Linda Holt Joesting, Moses Goods and Noʻu Revillal sharing stories and images of the last Hawaiian king best known for restoring Hawaiian cultural practices and traditions.  

 

The event brings to life the Honolulu Museum of Art exhibit Ho’oulu Hawaiʻi: The King Kalākaua Era, which is on display through January 27, 2019.
