Honolulu Beerworks will host the Aloha Pride Street Festival, part of Oahu’s month-long celebration of its lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer community. A portion of the proceeds will benefit Hawaiʿi Health & Harm Reduction Center (HHHRC), a non-profit providing needed services to underserved populations, including the unsheltered and those living with HIV, to reduce harm, promote health, create wellness, and fight stigma.
The Halloween-themed community event will feature food made with fresh ingredients and a beer selection including Belgian-style farmhouse ales and seasonal fresh-hop beers. The live music beings at 7 p.m. and will be headlined by longtime island favorite Kapena. Led by Kelly Boy De Lima, the group won four Nā Hōkū Hanohano awards in 2019 for Planea Ole.
In celebration of Pride Month, Honolulu Beerworks is launching a special brew benefiting HHHRC called “DJ Sparkles”—a blood orange, glitter saison. This beer will be available on draft and sold in limited release bottles on Aloha Pride Day at Honolulu Beerworks. A portion of all Sparkles bottle and draft sales will be donated directly to HHHRC.
