This year’s honoree is Angela Pratt, MD, who is Chair of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Kapiʻolani Medical Center, Clinical Assistant Professor at John A. Burns School of Medicine, and has decades of involvement in the beauty and fashion industry, is being recognized for excellence in the field of women’s health, including breast health and awareness.

Tying high couture in with the effort to find the cures for breast cancer, four design stars from Project Runway will be showcasing fashions from their latest collections: Ari South, Kini Zamora, Sean Kelly, and Alexander Knox. Modeling some their pieces will be breast cancer survivors and some of Hawaiʻi’s top models. These generous designers are taking their philanthropy one step further by donating one outfit for a live auction, which will be custom-fit for the auction winner.

Komen Hawaiʻi have funded well over $3 million for local hospitals and agencies that provide breast health and breast cancer education, clinical and diagnostic exams, treatment and support to thousands of uninsured and underinsured individuals throughout the islands.

On a national level, Susan G. Komen funds more breast cancer research than any other non-profit organization, and provides funds that support vital services for those who are facing the disease.
