Our practice is deeply committed to the overall health of our patients. Daytime fatigue, for example, often written off to lack of sleep or stress, is a common symptom of airway-related issues. Initial signs can show up in the teeth and oral cavity, years or decades before serious health issues emerge.
During our traditional dental examination, we check for airway-related dysfunction, such as teeth grinding, crowded teeth and snoring, to name just a few. Together with your medical history, these symptoms can point to the likelihood of developing obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) or upper airway resistance syndrome (UARS). These, in turn, are directly connected to larger health concerns such as high blood pressure, cardiovascular disease, diabetes, stroke, dementia, anxiety/depression and more. If an airway-related issue is present, we work collaboratively with your physician and provide referrals to our growing network of healthcare specialists who understand the importance of the dental-medical connection.
Our practice remains grounded in techniques that withstand the test of time, while embracing cutting edge technologies and research. A heartfelt thank you to my entire office staff and my colleagues who voted for us.
