2016 Top Doctors: Ankur Jain, M.D.
Dr. Ankur Jain has been helping to lead the fight against colon cancer, the second most common cause of cancer death in both men and women in the United States. Dr. Jain is a board-certified gastroenterologist and fellow of the American College of Gastroenterology.
“Early detection is critical, as we are encountering this cancer in younger patients. We are able to shorten wait time for procedures to two weeks and offer patients the option of scheduling them on Saturdays,” says Dr. Jain, who is also an assistant clinical professor of medicine at UH JABSOM.
Dr. Jain sees patients in the Weinberg Pavilion of Saint Francis Medical Center along with his wife, Dr. Shilpa Jain, one of the few female gastroenterologists on the island. He performs procedures at Hawaii Endoscopy Center as well as the Queen’s Medical Center.
After graduating from Punahou School, Dr. Jain attended Northwestern University Medical School. Selected as Chief Resident of Internal Medicine at Loma Linda University Medical Center, he later completed a fellowship in Gastroenterology at Kaiser Permanente Medical Center in Los Angeles.
Besides treating various different GI disorders, Dr. Jain also takes care of patients with liver disease.
